Teddy Quispe Soto is a biochemist specialized in Immunology. He is a Senior Research Assistant and serves as Head of Molecular Genetics and Cell Therapy Laboratories in Cell Biology Unit at School of Medicine, Mayor de San Andres University. After obtaining the degree in biochemistry, and to obtain his specialization in immunology, BSc. Quispe worked on demonstrating the pharmacological activity of Evanta, a natural herb from the Bolivian Amazon, on cellular immune response for the treatment of leishmaniasis. Then to obtain his Master degree in Biological Sciences, Mention in Developmental and Reproductive Biology, he worked on In vitro antineoplastic activity of Curcuma combined with a Paclitaxel chemotherapy drug in breast cancer cell lines at Institute of High Research at University of Tarapaca in Chile. Currently, he performs studies concerning diagnosis of hematological malignances and researches about high altitude pathological erythrocytosis molecular basis and cell therapy.
